Our Future Starts Today!
The Simpson Library has closed temporarily due to a small oil leak in the basement. The leak has been fixed, and remediation is underway. A huge thanks to the Craftsbury Community Care Center for welcoming library programs to their community room and making it possible for library programming to continue during this time. We will reopen as soon as remediation and cleanup are complete.
Our collection is still accessible through Interlibrary Loan and also through our Libraries of Craftsbury and Albany (LOCAL) collaborative catalog, so if there is a book you are looking for, let us know and we’ll send it through the weekly LOCAL courier to either the Albany Public Library or the Craftsbury Public Library.
Simpson Memorial: Part library,
part museum, all community resource.
Founded in 1921 by Jean Walker Simpson in memory of her father, the John Woodruff Simpson memorial library has served the community as a gathering place and a place to learn, connect with history, and be inspired for the past 104 years. Today, the library welcomes you, whether you are looking for a good book, high-speed internet, a ping-pong table, or want to visit the Brassknocker Farm barn replica in the children’s room. The library has a rich collection of books, including a strong Vermont collection, as well as a collection of artifacts from Craftsbury and around the world. We look forward to seeing you at the library!
