Simpson Library Artifacts: glimpses of the world we live in, past and present

On display at the Simpson Library, you will find an eclectic collection of artifacts from Craftsbury and around the world.

A pair of antique spectacles dug up in East Craftsbury can be found diplayed with a stalactite from the Bighorn Mountains.

In a 1997 letter from John Heidger accompanying a donation of artifacts to the library he says, “I have spent most of my life in some sort of Nature job. I have always attributed this to my early upbringing including the patronage of the Simpson Library. Without a doubt, the countless books I checked out of the library on Africa, the Amazon and other far away places as well as the books on wildlife and nature helped to send me in this direction.”
